At same park as where the screech owl was photographed, I ran across this Great Horned owl in it's nest, only about 60 feet off the trail. Photo is not very good as I did not want to leave the trail and disturbe her, so had to shoot thru the other trees etc, and at a bad angle. Was pretty cool to see tho. 

Was downstate yesterday to photograph eagles on the Hudson River. Saw lots of eagles but did not get any really good photos as they were not as close as I would have liked. Nice day out tho, even tho it was very cold (about 5 above). Saw three different owls at Croton Point Park along the river. This screech owl was just off one of the trails in a small hole in an old tree. He blends in pretty good. Almost looks like a little cat.
