I have been trying to get a shot of this PW on my suet feeder for a while but the only other time I was able to take a pic it came out pretty blurry.
She was taking big chunks of the suet and could go thru a suet cak pretty fast I would guess.
I leave the suet cakes up most of the summer because I like having the woodpeckers around and while them come for the suet cakes they patrol my trees for bugs at the same time.

This is one of the groups from one of the districts maching in square. We happened to be in Siena on St. Catherines Day, the patron aint of Siena. The city is divided in to 17 districts and each has their own flags and costums for celebrations.

This is part of one of the original city walls of Siena. Siena like many of the cities was walled city where these huge walls were built all around for defense.

Gondolas in canal in Venice, my favorite place of the Italy trip so far. It is interesting and fun there. Canals weave their way thru the city and small streets ad alleys lead here and there and sometimes dead end at a canal. It is easy to get lost in this laborinth but also easy to find your way back to something familiar.

Linda and I took metro in to center to see Duomo this arternoon.
You can walk up on walkways near the top spires and getsome good pics. It's great up there.

I'm always looking for these guys to get photos at Vischer's Ferry Nature Preserve. I found this one in my backyard. She was also coming to my feeder which they have never done before and also was eating at my neighbors feeder also. Got one pic at feeder but is was very out of focus.

Have been putting bluebird nest box out for several years but usually get chickadees nesting. This year in February started seeing some bluebirds coming to the feeders in backyard and so we put the bluebird house out early. This morning April 5, a pair of the bluebirds starting to go in and out of the house and have been bringing nesting materials in all day today. Looks like there will be bluebirds in the box this year. We live in a development an I always thought that our yard was not open enough for them to nest there.
