Took some shots at the Great Blue Heron rookery near Ballston Lake today. The herons are starting to pair up and steak out their nests for the year. There were quite a few standing on the nests there today. When they pair off, one will stand on the chosen nest and the other will fly off to forage for food. The one on the nest is guarding the nest so the other herons won't steal building materials.
